The Ring Video Doorbell lets users answer the door using their smart device while at home, from the office, or from anywhere in the world with an iOs or Android smart phone. The video doorbell connects to the local network and uses a free Internet cloud service to provide full motion video and two way audio with no monthly fees. Ring Doorbell users can proactively see who's at the door whenever they like plus they will receive push alerts to their smart device when the button is pressed or when motion is sensed. Users can customize notifications as needed.
Ring offers an optional cloud recording service allowing users to have video clips saved to the cloud to show the police for evidence in case of a crime or to share as needed. Ring even backs each device with a anti-theft warranty so users don't need to be worried about the device being stolen.

There are several versions of this popular video doorbell system.
The original Ring Doorbell is battery powered and uses WiFi so no wires are needed. It can be hard wired to power as an option but connectivity is using WiFi.
The Ring Video Doorbell 2 provides higher resolution (1080p) and has a removable rechargeable battery so the unit can stay in place while the battey is removed for charging. Users can also purchase a spare battery so there isn't any down time. It can also be hard wired for power.
The Ring Video Doorbell Pro is more sleek and narrow with 1080p resolution and enhanced motion sensing with custom motion zones. It comes with multiple colour face plates and must be wired to power. It cannot be used without a hard wired connection. It still uses WiFi for the network connection however.
The Ring Doorbell Elite is meant for pro installers, using a wired network connection and PoE (power over Ethernet) for power. It has 1080p resolution and a flush mount design.
